SEAWINGS 2nd field testing campaign

SEAWINGS continued its field testing with its newly built and integrated WIG platform with the 2nd set of field tests in the last week of July 2026.

The second SEAWINGS field testing campaign demonstrated significant improvements following the lessons learned from the initial trials. Key modifications to the propulsion, control systems and electrical configuration improved the platform’s overall reliability and water manoeuvrability. With these improvements several water runs were completed, with the prototype successfully demonstrating stable planing and improved directional control.

The consortium will now focus on analysing the test data, re-adapting the platform where needed, and preparing the platform for the next testing campaign.
